What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is the work of Dr. David Grand and has revolutionised the way I work with my clients. It is a deeply attuned relational brain-body approach to healing with psychological consequences. Brainspotting puts the wonders of your brain-body innate healing system and its wisdom at the center of the therapeutic process. Its approach is open, inviting, curious.
With Brainspotting we see whatever brings you into the therapy room in the context of your development as a human being. This includes earlier traumatic experiences all the way back to pre-verbal, intra-uterine and even your ancestors. Brainspotting is not only effective for emotional and trauma healing, it also expands your strength, resilience and resources that you have developed in your life or have been your intergenerational gifts.
Your brain has the ability to scan itself and knows where it needs to go for healing, ever moving towards homeostasis and equilibrium. Brainspotting uses different eye positions in your visual field as entry points into the deep areas of your brain where unresolved material or stuck memories are held -bypassing the analytical rational neocortex. Often this unresolved material is deeply unconscious and unknown to you. Yet it expresses itself in daily living through reactive patterns, triggers, negative beliefs, aches and pains in your body, or keeps your system perpetually in a survival state.

I will hold a safe space for you as you mindfully observe whatever emerges for you from the bottom up. It is in this focused mindful non-judgmental observing that your brain can process what needs processing for release, healing, and expansion.

At its core Brainspotting helps you to be who you were meant to be. In the unfolding process of Brainspotting you begin to reconnect with your true essence and have access to your innate deep intuitive wisdom to bring forth in your life.
